Sometimes my human takes a break from the bleariness of Indiana in February and heads out for Florida’s sunny shores. This year was no different. What also remained the same is that I got to spend a week at home with my favorite school teacher.
As you know, I see a lot of educators in my line of work. I like to think we have a lot in common. We share a love of kids, a desire to see kids succeed and live a good life, and we love to see the light come on in a child’s eyes when they learn something! There is no thrill like it!
My favorite educator does a great job of caring for me. She makes sure my routine stays the same, and that I am able to stay in my own home. Like all educators, she has rules: no dogs on the bed, no running in the hall, and a very strict rule of not barking at cats. Besides the affinity for cats, she is a really fun and caring person.
We shared some teaching tricks, but despite being quite fit, she declined to consider jumping through a hoop as a visual teaching aid! Not everyone can be as creative as Kasey the dog!
I hope that you get a break from winter and that if your human isn’t around, you have a safe and secure place to stay! Remember, wherever you are, check to make sure there is a working smoke detector before going to sleep. That’s one lesson you want to remember!
