Cincinnati is proving to be a good fit for Koorsen Fire & Security. We moved into the Ohio market in 1997 and have been expanding our reach and services since then. Now we’ve expanded our office space to match.
“Cincinnati’s a fantastic marketplace,” said District Manager Dale Underwood. “We’ve been growing exponentially, within a very loyal marketplace of businesses that run the gamut from one-off, small operations to Fortune 500 companies.”
“We’ve doubled the size of our Cincinnati facility to make room for more offices and more employees,” said Branch Manager Jon Timmons. “To keep up with the growth we’ve experienced in the Cincinnati community, we’re going to increase our workforce here by 33% within the second quarter this year.”
The office, which started with just a half-dozen employees less than four years ago, already has hired four additional technicians this year, and will soon top 20 staffers if hiring continues as planned.
Part of that growth owes to having built a robust sales staff since establishing a presence in Cincinnati, Underwood said: “We concentrated on building our sales team in 2013, and along with that we brought in the strong leadership of Branch Manager Jon Timmons, who came to Cincinnati this year after working his way up from technician to branch manager and district manager in Indiana.”
Our growth in Cincinnati also owes to our ongoing sponsorship of the Cincinnati Reds. Koorsen Vice President of Sales and Marketing Dave Strietelmeier explains that the Reds partnership is a big reason for Koorsen’s success in Cincinnati.
“The Cincinnati Reds have been wonderful to work with,” said Strietelmeier. “They don’t just take Koorsen’s investment and spend it on their product. They’re constantly working to get our company out in front of the community so our image is projected as a viable hometown business.”
We’ve worked with the Reds for two years and recently signed on for a third. The positive results that Koorsen has seen from the Reds sponsorship, which includes events like our Koorsen Fireworks Night and Bark in the Park, speak for themselves.
“In the two-plus years Koorsen has been involved as a corporate sponsor of the Reds, the sales from our Cincinnati branch have more than doubled,” said Strietelmeier. “Being able to sponsor one of Cincinnati’s most iconic teams has been a real pleasure for us.”
We hope to keep up the momentum we’ve started in Cincinnati. We’ll do it like we always have, by hitting the pavement to meet clientele and make opportunities to prove ourselves, and by getting ever more involved in the community.

As the company grows within Cincinnati, Timmons is looking for motivated, experienced people to join his team: “Here in Cincinnati, we do fire alarm service, sprinkler service, backflow preventer service, security and alarm monitoring, fire extinguisher service, and several other security and maintenance jobs. To make sure our customers continue to get the high level of service they’ve come to expect from us, we’ll need to add more talented people to our workforce over the coming months.”
